A specialist in creating bespoke ceremonies to celebrate life events that

change us, and the way in which we see, and function in, this beautiful world of ours.

JADE:  Not only a combination of my name, but also a lovely gem stone that many consider a protector of generations, living and dead.

I am Jackie Deakin and whether you are naming your precious new bundle of joy,  tying the knot, celebrating life changes, anniversaries and birthdays, or saying goodbye to a loved one, I am here to help you ring in those changes and guide you through the transition! I specialise in creating bespoke ceremonies to celebrate big life events that change us, and the way in which we see, and function in, this beautiful world of ours.

Weddings

It’s all about love…. And two people wanting to share the rest of their lives together.  Without love, we would be lost.

We all love weddings, don’t we?  There is now SO much available to enhance and specialise your day, we can get a bit lost in planning and organising such a big life changing event.  I am here to help and guide you through a bespoke ceremony and create something special for you and your partner on your wedding day, that the both of you and your honoured guests will remember for a long, long time.

To have joy - one must share it.

End of life ceremony

Death affects us all at some stage of our own lives.  We will all lose a loved one. Honouring your loved ones when they pass is a fundamental part of being human.  Creating a bespoke ceremony that not only honours their life, but respects and expresses gratitude that they touched our lives, is key to a peaceful sending to their spiritual home and the start of your journey around the grief wheel.  Let’s create a beautiful ceremony, that they will love, together. I am a fully trained Celebrant with the Fellowship of Professional Celebrants (FPC)

I am currently working on a programme for you to plan your End of Life Journey. Sometimes when someone dies, we just don’t know what to do or what our loved one would have wanted. This can lead to a huge amount of stress - so why not plan for the event, your Swan Song, which is going to come at some point?

What do you feel about writing your own Eulogy? This can include all your favourite memories and things that perhaps many people don’t know about you! Again this is something I can help with, so please do send me a message via my contact page and let’s talk about it.

Q: Why do people have to die?

A: Because ultimately, that is what gives life meaning.

Baby Naming Ceremonies
This is such a lovely time for new parents and extended family, it’s a shame to let this event slip by un-noticed. As the very first part of the Circle of Life, it is a pleasure and a privilege to welcome precious new life in a naming ceremony.  This is our chance to honour a new baby and bless their life with warm wishes of love, and bestow good fortune on their life on planet earth and celebrate the fact that they are here.

Coming of age, Anniversaries/Vow Renewals, Civil Partnerships, Big Birthday celebrations:
These are all reasons to celebrate and mark the passing of time and transition into a new decade, adulthood or maturing together as a married couple.  What better way than to celebrate with your family and friends and really mark the occasion that will be remembered for many years to come.

A little about me...

Well, what can I say? I love Marmite on my toast, but dislike Nutella! Basil is a favourite but I abhor coriander!

I had an experience of losing a much loved brother when I was 36 (he was just 43) and went off to explore the meaning of life beyond the physical. I didn’t get to the age I am now (60) without a little rain falling… “Into each life a little rain must fall”!

I’m not sure where that saying came from, but it is my experience that it is very true. That rain is what shapes us, our character, our traits, our lives and, of course, there are good times too, which are worthy of much celebration, bringing families and friends together and making magic memories.

“Bring me sunshine, in your smile” (I will bet you are singing it now! For those of us old enough!)

After raising a family and being employed in the medical world for most of my working life, I then trained as a Registrar with the County Council, attending and conducting over 70 weddings.  I absolutely loved this work and I have now made the decision that I can serve the wider community better by becoming a full Celebrant and helping you to celebrate and guide you through life changing transitions.

I am also a trained Soul Midwife, which is spiritual support at the end of life, attending to a loved one and being by their side, and yours, from news of a terminal illness, to death-bed hand holding and creating a final goodbye, committal and funeral service.

Although a very sad time for loved ones left in this world, I believe the final goodbye can be done with grace and compassion and

perhaps a celebration too of a life lived.

My life experience so far has seen me organise events and give presentations in front of 500 people

and I am no stranger to public speaking.  It’s one of those things that people absolutely love or dislike intensely.

Thankfully, I really love it.
