Weddings

It’s all about love…. And two people wanting to share the rest of their lives together.

Love is the ultimate driving force of the world in which we live and love is the very thing we all share and gives life meaning, no matter who we are, where we come from, what we do for a living, all humans have this capacity.  Love transcends all cultures, gender, race and age, from the smallest of babies to the grandest centurions.  Without love, we would be lost.

“Love is a set of emotions and behaviors characterized by intimacy, passion, and commitment. It involves care, closeness, protectiveness, attraction, affection, and trust.”

What can I offer?

Whether you are looking for a ceremony steeped in deepness and meaning, loving and fun, short and sweet, spiritual, eccentric and wacky, or all of the above,  I can cater for all types of ceremonies depending on your requirements. It is your special day, that often only comes once a lifetime, so let’s create something just perfect between us. It is important to me to characterise your wedding the way you want it.

If you are wanting to marry in a bluebell wood, a stately country home or your own back garden, with traditional vows, a spiritual hand-fasting or anything in-between, I endeavour to make your day as authentic as you would like it to be.  After all, we don’t have these ceremonies every day – they are very special.

I would take time to meet up with you a while before your wedding and then I will be able to create your own personal ceremony, your way.  It is such a special day for you and I am focused on getting it ‘just so’, leaving you with treasured memories to reflect on for years to come.

You are invited to include readings, poems and narrations of past experiences, funny or poignant, spoken by your loved ones and honoured guests and indeed these add wonder-filled moments to your special day.

Pricing from £695 (includes a non-refundable deposit of £350 to secure your date)

A meet-up with yourself and your partner (and any trusted friends and family you would like to be present), to discuss the type of ceremony you are looking for.

  • I will then write up a draft of your personalised ceremony for your approval and further suggestions

  • I will visit your venue and discuss with the staff the order of the day (this will be done via telephone or video call, if not local)

  • A second meet-up if required to discuss final arrangements and any changes

  • Final order of service will be written up and sent to you for approval

  • Attending and officiating at your ceremony

  • Mingle with your guests for a short while, if required, and any loose ends to be tidied up post-ceremony

Added extras to consider that can bring about a beautiful touch (Please note, these are just suggestions and not necessarily things I can source for you):

  • A ring-bearing owl/dog

  • Special tasks for the littlies in your gathering (they remember this forever)

  • Personal vows that you read to each other

  • Your beloved pets (usually dogs!) as part of the bridal party entrance

  • A harpist or string quartet (it is amazing how calming this can be)

  • A Magician to entertain younger (and sometimes older) guests while waiting for ceremony to begin

  • Asking your Celebrant to dress in matching colours/sparkly outfit, depending on your theme

  • Unity Sand ceremony (this is a mingling of sand, collected by the Bride and Groom which implies that once united cannot be separated.)

  • A ring blessing - the passing of your rings around your honoured guests for them to infuse your precious circles with loving thoughts.

  • Handfasting (‘Tying the Knot’ originates from the ancient Celtic wedding tradition known as 'Handfasting’). As the Celebrant, I will bind the couple's hands
together using coloured ribbons (each colour having a different meaning), cloth or string, as part of the ceremony or as a ceremony on its own.

  • Surprise Ring Bearer - This is becoming more popular for those of you who cannot decide on who you would like to carry out this very important role. Ask me for more details.

Miscellaneous:

Please note: Wedding ceremonies carried out by a celebrant have no legal standing, however a celebrant ceremony brings that special personalised feature to your wedding and the legal ceremony can take place before or after that. For your official betrothal, please enquire on-line at your local Registration Office or County Council. I am also unable to source caterers, venues, flowers, etc. However I am able to offer ideas and suggestions, so please do ask.

I will always endeavour to make your ceremony the ONLY ceremony I do for your chosen date, so you will have my full attention. I am also available outside the usual hours and can be flexible for dawn/sunset/evening ceremonies as required.

Travel expenses:  There are no travel expenses within a 20 mile radius of Landford (SP5).  Travel beyond 20 miles incurs the standard 45p per mile. I am prepared to travel within the UK and agree flight, hotel/B&B costs with you prior to travel.

It would be appreciated that a deposit is paid on booking my services and that my final invoice is paid in full at least 2 weeks prior to your event. Thank you
